in Blogging

The opening post of this blog was n 7th June, so that makes it six months old today. I doubt this will ever be one of those super high traffic blogs (not least I don’t write that many posts), but I feel progress has been steady. According to my WordPress stats – and I think a great many of these stats need taking with a pinch of salt – I have had 45,080 page visits, made 428 posts and had 1,603 comments.

Slightly worryingly, for the potential costs, last month this used up 5Gb of bandwidth, and is on course to use up rather more this month. I am surprised by the level of activity, but would like to thank all of you who have contributed to some lively discussions and interactions.

Thank you. I hope the next half-year is as interesting.

Please keep blogging – cost is relative to the stuff you are doing to keep us thinking.

Doug,

If you are looking to save a little bandwidth/money, you can host your images offsite. My guess (I do not have access to my usual Web development tools at the moment) is that a majority of the size of a page is due to the logo at the top, so this might be cost effective for you.
