Another email from the local church advertising yet another event aimed at “victorious living”. (I’d never have the energy to put so much time into being happy to be a Pentecostal). It begins:
Greetings in the Mighty Name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
It just seems a bit much for an emailed notice.
Oh, the topic?
would [you] like to experience total freedom and deliverance from fear, control and shame
Talk about over-realised eschatology.
(PS. I should say they’re all very nice people)
