The new five statement bible summary meme

Summarising is a mug’s game, or possibly a meme. After my attack on Packer’s summary of the New Testament yesterday, David Ker suggested that summarising the message might make a good meme. So, allowing for creative adaptation of the rules, here’s a go at some rules for a new meme.

Summarise the Bible in five statements, the first one word long, the second two, the third three, the fourth four and the last five words long. Or possibly you could do this in descending order. Tag five people.

Here’s my starter:

  • Creation
  • Shit happens
  • Prophets produce perseverance
  • Executed Christ promoted Lord
  • All things shall be well.

Over to you.

I tag David Ker (natch), Peter Kirk, David Keen, Mike Whitenton and for my fifth I would like to see a five statement summary of the beliefs of the Beaker folk.

Yeehaw. I’ll see what I can do.

LOL that Beaker stuff is inspiring.

Thanks for the challenge, consider it done.

Sorry no one else has accepted the invitation. My offering is a bit over-enthusiastic, I fear.

Begin!
Damaged goods
Keep right on!
Lord – Christ- you choose
Alleluia! Our God Reigns! Amen!

A good one there.

Here’s an rnswr from me – order reversed for English version – I justify my counts here

Hear O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is One
and-they-will-fear him all-the-extremities-of earth
of-the-hearing of-an-ear I-had-heard-of-you
Let-us-catch foxes
Desolations

I love Bob MacDonald’s erudite rendition!

It might be interesting to track this meme and where it went, and a collection of soem of the results.

It has gone a long way outside my normal readings! E.g. here
