Conspiring against Tom Wright

I’d like to thank Jon Swales for drawing attention to this. He is surprised that Themelios asked John Piper’s executive assistant to review Tom Wright’s robust demolition of Piper’s attack on the New Perspective. He is not surprised that the review is unfavourable.

One may suspect the influence of the general editor, one Don Corleone Carson. He did after all edit a book to prove covenantal nomism didn’t exist. After the majority of his contributors concluded it was quite a good description of what the evidence shows, he wrote a conclusion saying that it was clearly proven by his essayists that covenantal nomism didn’t exist.

That Wright be wrong is an article of faith. Those who love the Piper will do their best to call the tune, however much they have to ignore the score.
