Amendments to my life

John Anderson’s post on denominational affiliation made me realise I didn’t actually say on my About page what mine is – although it is (I assume) obvious that I’m Anglican.

However, I needed to update my page with some additional information, and I’ve used this as a reminder. The page is now gently updated to reflect the two realities below.

I’m sad to say that I have decided I am simply unable to commit enough time to part-time study to make my Birmingham registration for doctoral research financially or time-resource viable for the foreseeable future. Life is simply too busy.

That is not disconnected from the fact that I have also been asked to add the role of Diocesan Worship Advisor to my portfolio (no – in case you were wondering – I get no more hours in the day, nor pay for doing so). In relation to which I have a small book coming out in the near future on leading prayers in public worship.

I laud the sentiment, though. I love the idea that (somehow) we should get more time when we’re asked to do something extra….

Good luck with the new work and the book.
