Is this a Snow Leopard problem?

My MacBook Pro (Late 2008 15in 2.4 GHz) seems to be running a lot hotter since upgrading to Snow Leopard, and battery life has dropped below three hours for the first time of normal use. Is anyone else out there seeing this?
