Has the BBC really come to this?

in Media

A news flash between Question Time and This Week to tell us that Michael Jackson might have died. They’re not sure yet, and can’t confirm it, but the channels reporting it are often right.

And Andrew Neil feels he has to lead “This Week” on the “sad news”.

The “sad news” if anything, was more in the media treatment and actuality of what passed for Jacko as life: incapable of adult relationships, probably in inappropriate relationships with children, his home a Neverland, his best friend a chimpanzee and unable to live in his own skin.

The BBC’s premature report of “sad news” seems a misjudgement in every way possible.

oh its just such a horrid tragedy that abc news has ALREADY announced an hour special on the life of jackson tonight. they must have figured he was gonna die soon because they announced the special 4 minutes after he died.

sickening.

You can see the dollar bill signs in the glint of Murdoch’s and the rest of the media’s eyes. It’s yet another pay day for the media.

No, but let’s hope she makes the upgrade from Charlie’s Angel to God’s
